The nearby as well as the wider neighbourhood of Fabas offer many possibilities for short or longer walking and cycling tours. At only a few steps from the estate you can go to le Lac de Fabas and la Forêt de Fabas. As for the real sportsmen, very few explanation is needed when it comes to the possibilities the Pyrenees have to offer.
You can go fishing in a few nearby lakes (Lac de Saint-André and Lac de Saint-Frajou - predatory fish and whitefish), but you'll need a permit (30 € for a "holiday card", valid for 2 weeks and only available from June 1st until September 30th). If you don't wish to purchase a permit, you still have the possibility to go fishing in the private lake belonging to Marc Abadie, a neighbour of ours. Some beautiful carps have already been caught there by our guests. For the real "carpists" le Lac de Peyssies is a must, with specimen of over 20 kg.
In Samatan, along the road to Lombez, you'll find a large lake with a waterslide. The recreation park 'La Capelle' in Saramon has, besides a beautiful sandy beach, some other child friendly attractions: a waterslide, pedaloes, canoes, ...
In Anan you can hire a canoe or a kayak to descend the river Save (rather calm) or the river Gesse (a little more adventurous).
Near Rieumes you can swing a whole day from one tree to another at Tepacap. Several dozens of obstacle courses have been constructed here, taking you higher and higher into the trees. Suited for all ages. The security measures as well as security supervision are outstanding, so that accidents are impossible as long as you follow the detailed instructions you'll get before starting the 'Tarzan experience'. Tepacap really is an adventure that children as well as adults still talk about long afterwards.
Lac de la Gimone: On the river Gimone you can find a reservoir that has a limited and watched over swimming zone. You can also make a trip on the lake by boat, hire a pedalo, and sail or learn to sail.
For the little ones there is a playing ground. The main advantage of this lake is that it never is very crowded (up until now anyway) so that you can enjoy the sun, the water and the surrounding nature to its fullest.
At only 300 metres of 'Le Village' you can find the newly constructed tennis court of Fabas, where you can go playing for free.
